When asked what word my friends would use to describe me, I often say passionate. From the outdoors, to nutrition, to fitness, to justice, to coffee, to traveling, and a multitude of other things I am a passionate person. Once I become passionate about something, I do research to learn more. I desire to educate others on my passions and encourage them to find things they are passionate about.
Strengths: belief, achiever, discipline, responsibility, and competition
There is something awe inspiring about being outside. All of the massive mountains, subtle streams, dust in my shoes, and the salty residue on my face after a long hike energize me. I've spent time camping, backpacking, and viewing national parks from the car window while just passing through. My favorite places are the Havasupai Indian Reservation at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, Death Valley, and White Sands National Monument.
Taking care of my body is really important to me. In order for it to run well, it needs to be well fueled. With that being said, finding new healthy recipes to test out is another hobby of mine. From homemade pasta sauce, to a classic chicken tortilla soup, culinary adventures are not uncommon for me. The nutrients I consume are well used in training. I have trained for and successfully run 3 half marathons. I love running outside of my designated training, as well doing circuit training, rock climbing, and hiking.
During my senior year I spent time learning about the basics of the macronutrients that we put into our body, view the slide show below to see what I learned from my research.
